    Facilities

The Center offers the following facilities to the workshop participants:

20 offices
7 offices of 18 m2 and 13 offices of 12 m2;
2 lecture rooms
large for 40 - 70 people;
medium for up to 32 people;
a meeting room
small for 8 - 10 persons, with teleconference facility;
a common room
for coffee, tea, discussions, chatting or reading a paper;
19 whiteboards
in the corridor of the center, to be used for discussions and poster boards;
20 bicycles

All offices are equipped with desks, a whiteboard and a PC, which runs linux as well as windows and which has access to the internet. In addition, each room has a hookup for connecting a laptop to the internet. Wireless internet is available throughout the Lorentz Center. The network is supported by professional system managers. The offices provide optimal work space for workshops of 25 - 35 participants, but groups as large as 55 people have been accommodated successfully. Science libraries, cafeteria, photocopying and other such services are nearby, as the center is fully integrated with the buildings of Leiden University.

Lodging

Hotel facilities are available at walking distance from the Lorentz Center, for a reasonable price. The staff of the Center will reserve a hotel room for you after you have registered via the form on the website. The local organization of a workshop is supported by one of the workshop coordinators and the executive manager.

Rent

The Lecture rooms and the Meeting room are sometimes available for rent to people from outside the Natural Sciences Faculty of the University of Leiden, during periods when the rooms are not in use for a workshop.
