Assessing Hallucinations Across Disorders
The Questionnaire for Psychotic Experiences (QPE) is a newly developed tool aimed to overcome the diagnosis specific focus of current questionnaires. The majority of the current rating scales is specifically designed for a specific type of disorder, and not applicable to patients with other diagnoses. This has led to underdiagnosis and, consequently, undertreatment of psychotic symptoms. The Questionnaire for Psychotic Experiences (QPE) is a symptom-based questionnaire that is applicable to all psychotic symptoms, regardless of diagnosis.
The QPE Workshop will focus on training national and international researchers in QPE administration, and on discussing the applicability of the QPE in different patient populations.
The QPE interview has recently been validated in the Dutch language, and other (international) research groups are working on translations to other languages, such as English, German, Norwegian, Czech, Arabian, Cantonese, Korean and French. In this workshop, we would like to invite researchers from different countries and with various backgrounds to attend. By bringing together junior and senior researchers from different countries, and with various backgrounds (psychology, psychiatry, neurology, intensive care medicine, geriatric medicine, otolaryngology, linguistics), we would like to facilitate an exchange of experiences in assessing hallucinations across disorders. We aim to inform and exchange experiences on the variety of hallucinations throughout different diagnostic populations.
We look forward to welcome you in Leiden!
