Events with participants from Russian and Belarusian institutions

Hendrik Lorentz was a champion of open interaction and free collaboration among scientists, regardless of their nationality or background. This was an important reason for choosing his name for the Lorentz Center, 25 years ago.

We sincerely regret that current circumstances force us to deviate from Lorentz' example: we fully understand and support the standpoint of the Dutch knowledge institutions and thus comply with the resolution:

“No further collective events (scholarly or otherwise) are to be held, with participants from Russian and Belarusian institutions being barred from participation.”

Such a succinctly formulated rule cannot cover all specific cases. Naturally, the Lorentz Center remains open for questions and suggestions about individual situations.
