Analysis and Applications of Localized Structures in Nonlinear Media
    from 29 Aug 2016 through 2 Sep 2016

Description and Aim

This workshop plans to bring together leading experts in the fields of nonlinear dynamics each with emphasis on different aspects of the study of localized structures in nonlinear systems, encouraging a multitude of viewpoints and an exchange of study tools beyond the boundaries of specific model classes and applications. In particular, the connection between discrete and continuous modeling will be explored, as well as those between classical and quantum models, Hamiltonian and dissipative ones.

There are limited resources to fund accommodation for junior scientists. If you are interested in applying for financial support, please provide (by email to "m.chirilusbruckner@math.leidenuniv.nl")  the following documents no later than May 2, 2016:

 1.  Document requesting financial support and providing the rationale for the request and explaining your interest in attending the workshop.

 2.  A current curriculum vitae (including expected date of the award of your PhD, the institution awarding your PhD, and your advisor's name).

 3.  For PhD students: The name and e-mail address of your advisor who should be asked to provide a 1 page letter of recommendation commenting on your scholarly achievements and potential and on any special circumstances.
