Partner Programs

The Lorentz Center promotes daring topics in specific fields, by annual calls. The applications are evaluated for specific requirements – apart from the usual characteristics of Lorentz Center workshops. Among others, the special workshops receive more financial support than regular Lorentz Center workshops.

NIAS                                                                                                                               mojoimagealt-38-alt

DLF and NLTG fellowships are part of the NIAS-Lorentz Program that is based on an exceptional collaboration between the Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study in the humanities and social sciences (NIAS) in Amsterdam and the Lorentz Center, set up in 2006. The NIAS-Lorentz Program stimulates innovative research by bridging the humanities and/or social sciences with the natural and/or technological sciences. The fellowships entail a stay at the NIAS campus in Amsterdam and a workshop at the Lorentz Center in Leiden.

CECAM                                                                                                                        mojoimagealt-36-alt

The CECAM-Lorentz workshops are prestigious workshops in the computational sciences. Computational approaches are almost inherently interdisciplinary in character, thus blending naturally in the Lorentz Center’s workshop program.

The CECAM-Lorentz workshops are part of our collaboration with the Centre Européen de Calcul Atomique et Moléculaire (CECAM) in Lausanne, aiming at daring initiatives in multiscale modeling and simulation. The workshops are held since 2014, alternately at Lorentz Center in Leiden and at CECAM in Lausanne.

Netherlands eScience Center                                                                                   mojoimagealt-34-alt
The Lorentz-eScience workshops are part of our collaboration with the Netherlands e-Science Center in Amsterdam, set up in 2015. They focus on the application of digitally enhanced research bringing together researchers from the academic community with those from the public and/or private sectors.

The Royal Netherlands Chemical Society (KNCV)                                               mojoimagealt-98-alt

Since 2019, together with the KNCV, Lorentz Center organizes an annual chemistry workshop competition. We
invite applications by tenure track researchers who work on cutting-edge topics from any area of chemistry research. The topic can be mono- or multidisciplinary.
