Aim and Description
Neuronal activity is crucially dependent on the availability of energy. When energy supply fails, like for instance after cardiac arrest or stroke, energy dependent processes may fail selectively. For instance, moderate energy depletion disturbs synaptic transmission by altering presynaptic transmitter release.
In this workshop we bring together neurobiologists, mathematicians and neurologists to integrate existing knowledge and to identify flaws in our knowledge with the ultimate goal to improve clinical practise.
