Our workshop aims to bring together researchers from both survival analysis and infectious disease modeling to learn from each other and to promote collaboration. Time is a central element in both survival analysis and the modeling of infectious disease dynamics, yet the two disciplines often evolve in parallel rather than in synergy. The event will explore how advanced tools from survival analysis—such as multi-state models, frailty models, and additive hazard models—can help infectious disease modeling, and how biological knowledge and combining different sources of information from infectious disease modeling can inform survival analysis practices. The goal is to bridge methodological gaps and actively work together with (simulated) data.
