CRISPR Futures: Rethinking Gene Editing Innovation brings together researchers working on CRISPR technologies across the life sciences and social sciences, with a particular focus on anthropology and science and technology studies.
The workshop aims to create a genuinely interdisciplinary space in which participants move beyond presenting their work to collaboratively explore how gene editing is being developed, applied, and understood across domains such as health, agriculture, and food production.
Through a combination of short inputs, case-based discussions, and collaborative sessions, participants will work toward articulating what early and sustained collaboration between social and life sciences can contribute to shaping more socially responsible and reflexive forms of gene editing innovation. A key outcome will be a jointly developed position piece outlining shared questions and future directions for interdisciplinary research.
