The main aim of this workshop is to bring together leading experts of the field to review the current state of knowledge on Intra-Cluster Light (ICL), the faint halo of stars between galaxies in galaxy groups and clusters. The ultimate goal is to bridge the gap between theoretical and observational perspectives on ICL formation and evolution. By fostering collaboration and discussion, the workshop will produce a roadmap for the community, which will serve as a guide for future research and coordinated efforts in this emerging field.
The workshop aims to discuss the following key questions:
● Cluster and ICL formation
● Galaxy evolution in groups and clusters
● Cluster dynamical activity
● Dark Matter distribution
● Stellar mass function
● ICL-friendly data reduction
We strongly believe in the importance of discussions to improve and move forward in research. For this reason, the workshop is designed to be highly interactive and collaborative, with a mix of talks, hands-on sessions, and group discussions, more than just formal talks.
