Are you a young researcher with a background in the life sciences and a creative and inquisitive mind? Do you like to think about problems outside your own research project? Do you want to meet new people from other life science disciplines, including Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Engineering and industry?

Then apply for the first ‘Life Sciences with Industry’ Lorentz Center workshop!

Echoing the successful ‘Physics with Industry’ workshops, the Netherlands Consortium for Systems Biology, the Technology Foundation STW and Cyttron II (FES2009 Diagnosis consortium) joined forces to organize the first ‘Life Sciences with Industry’ workshop.

Four challenging problems formulated by Dutch industry will be tackled by young researchers that are expected to come up with creative solutions and come in contact with industrial R&D. Next to scientific outcome, we expect many new contacts and future job perspectives to result from the workshop.

During this workshop, each industrial problem will be tackled by a group of about eight young scientists, using both theoretical and practical approaches. They will be supported by senior researchers from academia and industry. On the last day, each group will present their solution of the problem that was tackled.
